User Guide
This tool helps you calibrate your FM Monitor configuration file.
Prerequisites
You must use a configuration file from Plugin Version 1.6 or newer.
Older files are missing required calibration variables.
Step 1: Upload
Click "Select metricsmonitor.js" to load your current configuration file. The tool automatically reads your current Scale and Calibration values.
Step 2: Pilot & RDS (Tab 1)
Use two different stations to calibrate the slope (Scale) and offset (Calibration).
- Station A: A station with low Pilot/RDS deviation (or 0 if using a signal generator).
- Station B: A station with standard/high deviation (e.g., Pilot 6.8 kHz).
- IS: The value currently shown on your meter.
- SHOULD: The real physical value (from a professional analyzer or datasheet).
Step 3: Mono (Tab 2)
Since the Mono meter reading might be unreliable, we calculate the correct Scale based on the MPX Total reading.
- Look at the MPX Total peak on a loud station.
- Enter what it shows (IS) vs. what the limit is (SHOULD, e.g., 75 kHz).
- Subtracts Pilot/RDS to isolate the Audio error.
Step 4: Stereo (Tab 3)
Stereo Scale is calibrated relative to the Mono Scale change. This step runs automatically if you completed Step 3.
Step 5: Finish
Click "Download Corrected Config" to save the file, or use the 📋 icons to copy individual values.
